VNSO contact blocks (part #: 03.016) were designed to be field replaceable with minimal effort and time. Watch the video above or read the steps below to learn how to replace contact blocks on a VNSO joystick.
Tools Needed:
Flat Head Screwdriver
Removal & Installation of Standard Contact Blocks
Grab both sides of the contact block using your thumb and index finger, and pull the block up and to the left or right side. With the right amount of force, the block should pop off fairly easily. To remove a contact block that’s flush with a plate, use a flat head screwdriver to wedge the block away from the plate and then remove as explained above.
Grab the new contact block and slide it on over the cam and snap it into place.
Follow the same process for any additional contact blocks that need to be replaced.
Maintenance & Inspection Tips
With the contact blocks removed, you will have full access to the joystick’s cams. Take this opportunity to inspect the cams and re-grease, if necessary. Before installing the new contact blocks, wipe out any debris or dirt that might be inside.
